Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and Accommodations

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges ensures that its programs, activities, and services are in compliance with access provisions of state and federal civil rights legislation for persons with disabilities. The Americans with Disability Act (ADA) defines a person with a disability as any person who has a record of, or is regarded as having, a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activity. An “otherwise qualified individual with a disability” is a person who, with or without reasonable accommodations, can meet the essential program or course requirements.

Employees may request accommodation(s) by contacting the EICC Chief HR Officer either in writing or verbally to request accommodation.

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges strive to provide the best possible experience to our students, employees and communities. Should a student, employee or community member feel that we have fallen short of that goal, this complaint/grievance procedure has been established to help resolve concerns.

Harassment and Complaint Procedure

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges is committed to maintaining a workplace, academic environment free of discrimination and harassment. Therefore, the college does not tolerate discriminatory or harassing behavior by or against employees, faculty members, vendors, customers, students or other persons participating in a college program or activity.

Title IX Policy

Eastern Iowa Community Colleges is committed to maintaining a workplace and academic environment where everyone is treated with dignity and respect. The college prohibits sexual misconduct in any form, which includes sexual harassment and sexual violence or other inappropriate behavior that is of a sexual nature, or based on sex, and directed towards, by or against employees, students, vendors, customers or persons participating in a college program or activity.
