Disruptive Students


In-Person 

The following guidelines are intended to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all students while participating in a CE class. Students are expected to be: 

  • Courteous and respectful 

  • Observe all rules within each respective classroom area. 

  • Maintain equipment properly and return supplies to the properly designated areas. 

The following disruptive classroom actions are prohibited: 

  • Fighting or physical threats, assault or harassment. 

  • Abusive/foul language. 

  • Bringing weapons of any kind to class. 

  • Drugs, alcohol, or smoking-related activity. 

  • Coming to class under the influence of drugs or alcohol 

  • Willful damage to property. 

  • Theft of student or college property. 

Online 

Students are provided log-in information and a copy of Zoom etiquette which encourages students to: 

  • Be on time  

  • Find the right spot 

  • Be tech ready 

  • Stay muted unless speaking  

  • Be presentable 

  • Participate in the class 

  • Communicate in class 

  • Limit distractions 

Instructors should review expectations and discuss potential consequences. If a student is not following the expectations, send them a private chat to let them know they are at risk of being removed from the class. If the student continues to exhibit disruptive behavior, you have the right to remove the student.
