American Legion/AMVETS

The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans’ organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation’s largest wartime veteran’s service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow service members and veterans For more information, please visit legion.org.

Community Resource and Referral Center (CRRC)

Provides access to VA resources for housing, mental health, career development, food pantry, laundry facility, and showers. Located at 415 North Perry Street, Davenport, Iowa. Phone number: 563-328-5800.

Home-Based Iowa

Home Base Iowa (HBI) is a one-of-a-kind program connecting veterans and transitioning service members with HBI partners and resources. This program helps connect businesses with qualified veterans looking for career opportunities. Countless resources are available to help veterans and their families with education and in transitioning to a new community with focused support and individuals who want to help. Iowa Able Foundation

The Iowa Able Foundation helps Iowans with disabilities, their families and older Iowans access adaptive devices/equipment and home modifications through its loan programs. For more information, visit iowaable.org.

Partner Military Care Program

In support of our military, the Palmer Chiropractic Clinics offer complimentary care for active-duty status military personnel and their families without chiropractic benefits*, including those in the active-duty status with the National Guard or Reserves. Veterans classified as 20% or more disabled by the Veteran’s Administration and their legal dependents also are eligible. The complimentary care includes examinations, treatment visits, X-rays and rehabilitative services.

QC Veterans Outreach Center

Retrieving Freedom

Retrieving Freedom is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that trains and matches service dogs with Veterans and Autistic children. Training locations are in Waverly, Iowa and Sedalia. MO. For more information, visit retrievingfreedom.org.

VA Women Veterans Program

Our Mission: Monitor and coordinate VA’s administration of health care and benefits services, and programs for women Veterans. Serve as an advocate for a cultural transformation (both within VA and in the general public) in recognizing the service and contributions of women Veterans and women in the military. Wounded Warrior Project
