MUS 222 - Music Theory III Credit(s) 4.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 Lab Hours: 2.00 This course provides further study in diatonic techniques and initial study of twentieth century techniques. Continuation of writing skills and analysis including small part forms. Sight singing and aural skills included.
Prerequisite(s): MUS 123 SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Modulate by pivot chord, sequence, and diminished seventh chords.

Analyze and write diminished triads and seventh chords.

Analyze and write secondary leading tone chords.

Recognize and analyze binary and ternary forms.

Apply part writing procedures to instrumental music.

Analyze and write diatonic seventh chords in all major and minor keys.
