This handbook is prepared as a special resource containing information pertinent to the program. If you have questions, need assistance or clarification on any policies, procedures, or requirements, you are strongly encouraged to see your program director.
Each student is responsible for reading and complying with information appearing in this program handbook as well as the Eastern Iowa Community College Student Handbook. This handbook with be referenced throughout the program. Failure to read the handbook will not be in the student’s best interest. Student’s will submit a signed form stating that they have read through and understand the expectations found within the handbook prior to starting their first course in the program as well as signing the confidentiality statement that are both found at the end of the handbook. Fully reading, and understanding the confidentiality statement is critical for students who will be handling protected patient health information. The unauthorized access of patient information may lead to dismissal from site and program. You will not be allowed to start the first core course without signing these two documents and submitting them to Carrie Jackson, Program Director.
Policies in this program handbook have been adopted by the faculty. If a student finds that an extenuating circumstance might justify a waiver of a particular policy, the student may petition the program director. The program reserves the right to change policies or revise curricula as necessary due to unanticipated circumstances. Students registered in technical courses will be informed of curricular changes.
