EICC Employee Handbook

Purpose of Employee Handbook

Leaves of Absence

EICC provides family care and medical leave in accordance with the federal Family and Medical Leave Act; pregnancy disability leave; disability leave for a workplace injury or as required to reasonably accommodate its eligible employees with a qualified disability; Military Caregiver Leave; and leave for other legally required absences as set forth below.

An employee who takes leave under this policy is required to use paid time off benefits concurrent with leave. Employees will be required to use all applicable leave types, i.e., Serious Illness or Injury in the Immediate Family, Personal Leave, Sick Leave, Vacation, and/or Banked Vacation.

If an employee’s leave falls over a holiday, FMLA should be counted for that holiday. However, FMLA will not be counted if your department and educational facility is closed for summer or for winter recess.

Contact Human Resources for more information.
