This Employee Handbook contains information about the employment policies and practices of Eastern Iowa Community Colleges (EICC). These policies reflect the college’s values, and we expect each employee to read this Employee Handbook carefully as it is a valuable reference for understanding your job and EICC.
EICC reserves the right to revise, delete, and add to the provisions to this Employee Handbook. All revisions, deletions, or additions will be in writing. Oral statements or representations do not change any provision within this Employee Handbook.
Employees who are not covered by executed contracts or Iowa Code Chapter 279, have the right to terminate employment at any time. EICC also has the right to terminate employment at any time. If there is a conflict between a description in the handbook and a master or individual contract, or Board Policy, or any other lawfully adopted agreement, regulation, provision, etc., the latter will prevail in all cases.

If an employee has questions or concerns about this handbook or any policy, procedure, or practice, please contact your direct supervisor or the director of Human Resources.
Nothing in this handbook or in any other document or policy is intended to violate local, state, or federal law.
Nothing in this handbook is intended to limit any concerted activities by employees relating to wages, hours, working conditions, or any conduct protected by the National Labor Relations Act, Section 7.
Nothing in this handbook prohibits an employee from reporting concerns to, filing a charge or complaint with, making lawful disclosures to, providing documents or other information to, or participating in an investigation or hearing conducted by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), National Labor Relations Board (”NLRB), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) or any other federal, state, or local agency charged with the enforcement of any laws.

This handbook may apply to employees working in a state with greater or different rights. Employees will receive a state-specific supplement to the Employee Handbook that provides information and policies applicable to that state. EICC complies with applicable state and local laws.
