Information Technology - Programming, AAS

Campus: Clinton, Muscatine, and Scott Community Colleges, and Online

Application developers typically create software applications used to target specific needs of businesses or individuals using computer languages such as Visual Basic, Python and Java. Application developers may also be responsible for the administration or support of systems and applications.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Information Technology - Programming program, students will be able to:

  1. Employ programming logic and concepts.
  2. Demonstrate correct usage of syntax and debugging needed to create computer programs.
  3. Create desktop and web application software using high-level, object-oriented programming languages.
  4. Design and develop databases to retrieve, store, and manage information using industry-standard tools.
  5. Design computer software.
  6. Implement computer programs for developing applications and websites using in-demand programming languages.
  7. Test computer applications.
  8. Collaborate with others in a technical environment.
