The Expanded Functions Dental Assisting Certificate is designed to be completed without leaving your dental office. Coursework includes directed text readings, evaluation measures, and completion of clinical skills within your office. You will be assigned an instructor who will oversee your progress within the course.

Students enrolled in the course are given one semester to complete all coursework. Upon completion of the course work, students must pass a required post-assessment to earn the certificate.  The program utilizes online quizzes to help prepare students for this assessment.

Eligibility for the Expanded Functions Dental Assisting Certificate requires graduation from an American Dental Association (ADA) accredited dental assistant program, current certification by the Dental Assisting National Board, at least one year of clinical practice as a registered dental assistant, or at least one year of clinical practice as a dental assistant in a state that does not require registration.
