Campus: Online*

Cancer Information Management (CIM) certificate is an online program. *Please note that students will be required to complete a practical experience with a Certified Tumor Registrar at a Cancer Registry site.

Students who have previously earned AAS degree in nursing and/or allied health major or higher may be admitted into the certificate program.

The CIM program prepares graduates to work in cancer centers, hospitals, government agencies, and pharmaceutical companies. CIM workers manage, analyze, and maintain clinical cancer information databases that are used in research, quality management, facility planning, program development, and compliance. The CIM program meets the formal requirements established by the National Cancer Registrar’s Association (NCRA) and has been awarded full accreditation from the NCRA. Students completing the program are eligible to sit for the Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) Exam.

*Students must complete one on-site practicum (CIM 271) and will work with a program representative on finding an approved on-site location relative to their geographical region.

In addition to the general admission requirements of the college, applicants to this program must meet specific program admission and grading criteria. The application process and admission requirements for the Cancer Information Management program can be found at www.eicc.edu/cim.
