Campus: Muscatine and Scott Community Colleges

The Early Childhood Education program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive background in early childhood education. Meaningful, on-site, practical experiences along with lecture, hands-on learning and theory round out the basic education provided.

Program Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of the Early Childhood Education program, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate positive guidance techniques with children.
  2. Write developmentally appropriate lesson plans for young children.
  3. Critique ethical behaviors of an early learning teacher in an early learning environment.
  4. Analyze personal ethical behaviors while teaching young children.
  5. Construct a safe and healthy learning space in compliance with ADA regulations.
  6. Describe positive relationships between families, early learning environments, and community partners.
  7. Demonstrate professionalism in the workplace, which includes dependability, responsibility, and working with all stakeholders respectfully.
