This course is a comprehensive project-based course that will integrate the skills mastered in previous program courses. Students will be required to complete a project assigned by the instructor. The use of information from the solid modeling, machining, lean, additive, and inspection courses will be a requirement for this project. The final project will include the part or assembly as well as a report containing any information needed to create the part or assembly, for example, material requirements, detail drawings, and processing information.  No

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Analyze and creatively solve manufacturing challenges through the development of a comprehensive plan.
  • Apply the knowledge of various manufacturing, process, and design areas.
  • Integrate advanced technology such as CNC, and digital modeling into the design and manufacturing of a part or project.
  • Use precision measurement equipment to verify that products meet design and function specifications.
  • Communicate project progress and results effectively in both technical and non-technical audiences through written and oral presentations.
  • Apply critical thinking to develop plans, analyze data, and make decisions.
