This course is a comprehensive project-based course that will integrate the skills mastered in previous program courses. Students will be required to complete a project assigned by the instructor. The use of information from the solid modeling, machining, lean, additive, and inspection courses will be a requirement for this project. The final project will include the part or assembly as well as a report containing any information needed to create the part or assembly, for example, material requirements, detail drawings, and processing information. - Analyze and creatively solve manufacturing challenges through the development of a comprehensive plan.
- Apply the knowledge of various manufacturing, process, and design areas.
- Integrate advanced technology such as CNC, and digital modeling into the design and manufacturing of a part or project.
- Use precision measurement equipment to verify that products meet design and function specifications.
- Communicate project progress and results effectively in both technical and non-technical audiences through written and oral presentations.
- Apply critical thinking to develop plans, analyze data, and make decisions.
