This course will cover the fundamental knowledge, principles, techniques and equipment used for precision measurement and inspection in an industrial or manufacturing setting. Students will develop hands on skills through a series of projects in a lab setting. There will also be coverage of Statistical Process Control or SPC.  No

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 

  • Understand fundamental measurement concepts.
  • Apply best practice techniques for using common metrology tools.
  • Interpret and apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancign (GD&T) principles to drawings.
  • Select and use appropriate inspection methods for various manufacturing processes and feature inspection.
  • Document and report measurement data.
