AGV 232 - Clinical Technology III

This course is a continuation of Clinical Technology I & II. It includes information on preventative medicine, pathology and response to diseases, fluid therapy and blood transfusions, dentistry, and emergency and critical care. In addition to new information the student will also be able to review any areas of concern or techniques in order to prepare for the upcoming national exam.

Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C in AGV 113 AGV 127 AGV 131 AGV 133 AGV 146 , and MAT 104 
SLOs:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Describe how to perform a dentistry cleaning and educate clients to provide home care.

  • Identify the reproductive system and how the hormones and structures play a role in diseases.

  • Identify alternative medicine modalities as they are used in rehabilitation and physical therapy.

  • Detail the role of the veterinary technologist in an emergency or critical care situation.

  • Articulate how to perform standard therapeutic and diagnostic tests and sampling techniques.

  • Detail the types of pathology and response to disease that is commonly seen in veterinary medicine. 

  • Articulate different types of preventative health programs and how to implement them in the hospital.
