AGV 131 - Clinical Technology II

This course is a continuation of AGV-130, which will build on more extensive nursing care. Students will learn different techniques that are critical in wound management, diagnostic sampling, and neonatal care.

Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C in AGV 119 and AGV 130.
SLOs:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Describe the phases of wound healing, wound classification, and wound closure.
Apply intermediate to emergency bandages, splints, and casts.
Collect samples for diagnostic procedures such as blood and urine.
Explain preventative health programs for canine and feline patients.
Place and maintain intravenous catheters.
Provide nursing care for neonatal puppies, kittens, and foals.
