AGV 131 - Clinical Technology II

This course is a continuation of AGV-130, which will build on more extensive nursing care. Students will learn different techniques that are critical in wound management, diagnostic sampling, and neonatal care. 

Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C in AGV 119  and AGV 130 
SLOs:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Describe the phases of wound healing, wound classification, and wound closure.

  • Apply intermediate to emergency bandages, splints, and casts.

  • Collect samples for diagnostic procedures such as blood and urine.

  • Explain preventative health programs for canine and feline patients.

  • Place and maintain intravenous catheters.

  • Provide nursing care for neonatal puppies, kittens, and foals.
