IND 200 - Mechanical Drives I Credit(s) 2.00 Lecture Hours: 1.00 Lab Hours: 2.00 This course will teach students the fundamentals of mechanical drives by introducing the student to key fasteners, v-belts, chain drives, spur gear drives and multiple shaft drives in a mechanical drive systems used throughout the industry.
SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Interpret the hazards of electromechanical equipment.
- Apply safe working practices.
- Explain key fasteners.
- Explain power transmissions and shafts.
- Explain V-belt drives.
- Explain chain drives.
- Explain gear drives.
- Describe synchronous belt drives.
- Compare lubrication standards.
- Compare coupling methods.
- Demonstrate troubleshooting techniques used with power transmission systems.
- Demonstrate proper maintenance procedures for power transmission systems.
