ADI 275 - Cardiac Sonography III Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 This course continues the study of cardiovascular disease processes in the adult patient. Advanced imaging techniques and new advances in the field will be explored. Students will also be introduced to professional governing agencies and explore opportunities for professional growth and development.
Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C in ADI 265 and ADI 808 . SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Discuss the risk factors, signs and symptoms associated with selected adult cardiac pathologies.

Identify the sonographic appearance of select cardiac pathologies when evaluating echocardiographic studies.

Assess qualitative and quantitative measurements obtained during the course of sonographic imaging of the heart.

Discuss advanced imaging techniques that may be incorporated into a standard protocol to aid in diagnosis of select pathologies.

List various professional organizations and governing agencies associated with the field of cardiac sonography.

Discuss the responsibilities for continued growth and development as a medical professional and various opportunities for advancement in the field of cardiac sonography.
