SPC 122 - Interpersonal Communication Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 This course provides an introduction to interpersonal communication theories and principles with an emphasis on applications for understanding the self and others. Topics include self-esteem, perception, listening, verbal and nonverbal communication, communication climates, interpersonal conflict, emotions, and relationship development.
SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:-
Examine the interdependent relationship between culture, identity, perception, and interpersonal communication.

Select appropriate interpersonal communication strategies for a variety of contexts.

Assess the role of communication in the development, maintenance, and dissolution of close personal relationships.

Appraise interpersonal communication strategies used by themselves and others.
