This course is designed for those eager to further develop and refine the fundamental talents acquired in an introductory public speaking course and to provide an advanced understanding of the public speaking experience as an orator in real-life contexts. Speaking experiences may include ceremonial speaking, persuasive presentations, training, and lecturing, among others.

Prerequisite(s): SPC 112 or SPC 170
SLOs:
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Utilize practical aspects of contemporary public speaking theory in the design and delivery of various presentations.
Acquire additional experience in public speaking beyond what is required in an introductory level speech course.
Execute speeches with superior vocal and physical speech delivery.
Demonstrate the ability to collect, analyze, and utilize information effectively for a variety of different topics, audiences, and purposes.
Exhibit a clear understanding of the components of ethical and effective public communication.
