This course is designed to provide additional reading in sociology, allowing the student to obtain a greater understanding in various problem areas in the discipline. This course may be repeated twice for additional credit.

Prerequisite(s): SOC 110

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of advanced sociological principles by selected classic and contemporary readings.
  • Examine a wide variety of sociological materials from divergent theoretical perspectives.
  • Understand social science methods used in analyzing social phenomena in the diversity of human perspectives.
