This course provides an overview of various renewable energy applications. This includes a discussion of energy from wind, solar, ethanol, biodiesel, methane and hydro. There will be an introduction to cost, uses and maintenance of such systems.

Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Identify major concepts of renewable energy and its terminology.
Examine the elements of a renewable energy systems and the major functional areas of renewable energy.
Recognize the impacts of renewable energy systems within the energy industry.
Identify trends, issues, and challenges of the renewable energy field.
