PSY 943 - Readings in Psychology Credit(s) 1.00 Lab Hours: 2.00 This course is designed to provide additional readings in psychology, allowing the student to obtain a greater understanding of the various areas of this discipline than can be attained by normal course work.
SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of foundational and contemporary concepts in psychology through critical reading and discussion.
- Assess the methodology, findings, and implication of empirical studies in psychology, recognizing strengths and limitations.
- Integrate insights from various readings to form a cohesive understanding of psychological theories and practices.
- Demonstrate articulating thoughts and responding to peers’ viewpoints with respect and analytical depth through class discussions.
- Formulate a connection between psychological research and theories to real-world issues, demonstrating the practical application of psychological principles.
- Produce clear and organized written reflections and presentations that convey an understanding of psychological topics and literature.
- Demonstrate critical thinking skills by questioning assumptions, evaluating evidence, and constructing well-reasoned arguments.
