PSY 261 - Human Sexuality Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 This course is an introduction to the study of the dynamics of human sexuality. Emphasis is given to the physiological, psychological, and social aspects of sexuality. This course is cross listed as SOC 261.
SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Demonstrate an understanding of human sexual anatomy and physiology including the major systems involved in human sexual function and reproduction.

Explore the psychological and emotional aspects of sexuality.

Analyze how sexual identify, orientation, and attraction are developed and experienced across different cultures and societies.

Evaluate the impact of societal influences (such as the media and religion) on sexual behavior in shaping cultural norms and individual sexual practices.

Examine sexual health and risk behaviors related to sexual health, including sexual transmitted infections, contraception, and safer sex practices.

Demonstrate an understanding of human sexual diversity with a range of sexual behaviors, orientations, and identities.

Assess the importance of sexual rights and inclusivity.
