This course is designed for the liberal arts student. The course will include logic, counting methods and probability, statistics, financial mathematics, different base systems, sets, and problem solving. This course may satisfy a general education requirement in the Mathematics Area.

Prerequisite(s): Successfully completed junior level high school mathematics course or advisor placement utilizing EICCD multiple measures or HiSET placement.
SLOs:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Solve application problems concerning Financial Mathematics (which includes bank accounts with compound interest and loans with compound interest) using appropriate methods.
Calculate probabilities using appropriate methods.
Apply appropriate statistical methods to application problems.
