ITP 231 - Transliteration II

Lecture Hours: 3.00
This course will continue to develop the skills learned in Transliteration I. Emphasis will be placed on speed, conceptual accuracy, and skill within English-based sign systems. This class will focus on the professional skills necessary in educational interpreting situations.

Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C- in ITP 230  
SLOs:
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

  • Develop knowledge of the role of an educational interpreter.

  • Develop knowledge of ethical practices in educational settings.

  • Develop proficiency in transliterating mock situations with complex sentence structure at an increased pace.

  • Develop knowledge of federal and state laws that regulate educational interpreting.
