HUM 924 - Honors Project Credit(s) 1.00 Lab Hours: 2.00 This course is designed to integrate academic study and community service. By volunteering at least 33 hours at a non-profit, service organization, students will have an opportunity to exercise civic responsibility and deepen their understanding of the content in their majors. Students will learn and develop through active participation in organized service experiences that meet our community’s needs.
Prerequisite(s): Complete an Honors Independent Study or an Honors Seminar. SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Learn and develop through active participation at non-profit, service organizations.

Integrate the work site experience with the content in his/her major.

Increase the relevancy of their education.

Broaden their social awareness.

Deepen their understanding of civic responsibility.

Improve critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

Develop job skills not otherwise learned in an academic setting.
