HSE 225 - Legal Aspects of Occupational Safety and Health Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 This course provides a study of legal implications of legislation as it applies to environmental, health, and safety in the workplace. Students concentrate on regulatory, common, and administrative law; mandatory and voluntary compliance; and applicable government agencies and their roles. Additionally, students are introduced to the professional code of ethics of an environmental, health, and safety person.
Prerequisite(s): HSE 205 , HSE 230 SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:-
Apply both the volunteer and mandatory environmental and occupational safety standards to the work environment.

Recognize the liabilities from a business and personal aspect.

Identify legal actions and sanctions with respect to the regulations.
