HSE 200 - Waste and Remediation Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 This course provides a study of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations pertaining to hazardous waste management. There is an emphasis on the requirements of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act (CERCLA). Students learn the steps in managing hazardous wastes from cradle-to-grave including reading, interpreting, and applying sections from the Code of Federal Regulations.
SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:-
Identify the regulations associated with cradle-to-grave management of hazardous wastes from the points of view of the generator, the transporter, and the operator of a Hazardous Waste Treatment, Storage, and Disposal Facility (TSDF).
