ECE 168 - Science and Math Activities for Young Children Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 This course is designed for students in early childhood education. Curriculum is presented in a developmental sequence designed to support young children’s construction of the concepts and skills essential to a fundamental understanding of math and science.
Prerequisite(s): ECE 103 and ECE 159 SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Utilize the National Association for the Education of Young Children’s science and math standards.

Use problem solving techniques when working with young children.

Illustrate how math can be integrated with other content areas.

Discuss developmental sequencing.

Utilize technology to enhance knowledge of math and science within the early childhood classroom.

Demonstrate the ability to integrate scientific concepts into other curriculum areas.
