BUS 300 - Introduction to Radio Frequency ID Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 This course covers Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) concepts and fundamentals, and how emerging electronic product code (EPCglobal) standards are influencing adoption. Content includes RFID capabilities, current applications of RFID in businesses, and practical ways to articulate applications and uses of this technology to potential employers and peers.
SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Develop knowledge in the application of various forms of Auto-Identification (Auto-ID) technology in the Supply Chain.
- Recognize the major concepts, fundamentals and limitations of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID).
- Develop an understanding of the impact of standards and mandates on RFID implementation.
- Explain the need to safeguard information and protect privacy.
- Design RFID implementation to ensure information privacy.
- Integrate workplace skills to include improved communication skills.
