BUS 180 - Business Ethics Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 This course will introduce students to ethical principles and the application of ethical principles to situations relevant to decision-making in the professional and business world.
SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:-
Develop an awareness of the legal and ethical environment in which business must operate.

Understand the history and development of business ethics in the United States.

Recognize newly emerging trends in business ethics.

Understand ethics as a dimension of social responsibility.

Identify the legal and regulatory issues in business ethics as they relate to the economic, competitive, and philanthropic obligations of businesses.

Identify laws regulating ethical behavior in the areas of consumer protection, equity and safety and the environment.

Understand ethical decision making in relationship to corporate governance.

Develop and understanding of how individual and organizational factors affect business ethics.

Identify the steps necessary to create and implement an effective ethics program in organizations.

Identify issues of business ethics that occur in international business.

Identify and understand the consequences incurred in several current, high profile business ethics cases.
