BIO 173 - Human Anatomy and Physiology II

This course is the second course in a two semester sequence. The content includes study of the following organ systems or topics: cardiovascular, lymphatic, immune, respiratory, digestive, metabolism, urinary, and reproductive. This course may satisfy a general education requirement in the Natural Sciences Area.

Prerequisite(s): Minimum grade of C or higher in BIO 168  
SLOs:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  • Develop a vocabulary of appropriate terminology related to anatomy and physiology.

  • Recognize the anatomical structures

  • Explain the physiological functions of body systems

  • Explain the interrelationships within and between anatomical and physiological systems of the human body

  • Explain the principle of homeostasis and use of the feedback loops to control physiological systems in the human body

  • Use critical thinking to evaluate scientific information to make informed decisions.
