This course is the second course in a two semester sequence. The content includes study of the following organ systems or topics: cardiovascular, lymphatic, immune, respiratory, digestive, metabolism, urinary, and reproductive. This course may satisfy a general education requirement in the Natural Sciences Area.

Prerequisite(s): Minimum grade of C or higher in BIO 168

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Develop a vocabulary of appropriate terminology related to anatomy and physiology.
Recognize the anatomical structures
Explain the physiological functions of body systems
Explain the interrelationships within and between anatomical and physiological systems of the human body
Explain the principle of homeostasis and use of the feedback loops to control physiological systems in the human body
Use critical thinking to evaluate scientific information to make informed decisions.
