A survey of the flora and fauna of various habitats including classification, life history, data and ecology. Emphasis is on field observations and techniques useful in analysis of natural populations.

SLOs:
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Develop knowledge of various field techniques used for sampling flora, fauna, and soil in the Midwest.
Develop an ecology experiment.
Demonstrate knowledge of local flora and fauna.
Apply techniques to studying animals and plants.
Proficiently use research skills to examine literature related to ecological topics.
Apply statistical techniques to analyze gathered data.
