ASL 281 - American Sign Language IV

This course expands on basic language skills in American Sign Language (ASL). Students will further develop their ability to engage in group conversations, exchange information and communicate with others in a culturally appropriate manner on a wide range of topics.

Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C- in ASL 245  or ASL 251 
SLOs:
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate expressive and receptive ASL communication skills on a wide range of topics.

  • Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Deaf Culture.

  • Utilize ASL to connect with a wide range of topics.

  • Demonstrate insight into the nature of language and culture.

  • Utilize ASL to participate in Deaf Community events.
