AGH 220 - Plant Identification I Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 This course will provide the student with an overview of Midwest plants. The focus will be on identification of annuals, herbaceous perennials, trees and shrubs that are most commonly used in the Midwest landscape. Includes plant identification using botanical nomenclature, specific cultural requirements and how each is used in landscape design.
SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Distinguish between herbaceous, woody, deciduous, and evergreen plants.

Identify common species of plants by scientific and common names.

Describe the specific cultural requirements of the identified plants.

Describe how each plant can be used in landscape design.
