United Way is looking to create this program with on Muscatine campus at EICC to assist taxpayers in low socioeconomic status. This program is already placed in several colleges in the state of Iowa and would like to open to the Muscatine area. There is a need for this course and a request for students to start in the Spring of 2024. Will be offered at Muscatine campus at this time.

SLOs:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Explain tax rules and regulations involved in the return preparation process, including preparation of the basic 1040 form.
Demonstrate communication skills necessary to interview tax clients and capture their necessary information.
Demonstrate the ethical responsibilities and behaviors inherent in the preparation of individual tax returns.
