NET 166 - Applied Computer Security Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 2.00 Lab Hours: 2.00 This course will discuss the basic concepts of practical computer and Internet security: passwords, firewalls, antivirus software, malware, social networking, surfing the Internet, phishing, and wireless networks. This class is intended for students with little or no background in information technology or security.
SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify threat categories.
- Discuss risk management.
- Prepare a basic contingency plan.
