CIS 270 - Server Side Scripting Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 2.00 Lab Hours: 2.00 This course will teach students to develop and implement web applications using server side scripting with emphasis on Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP). Additional server side scripting languages and technologies will be discussed. Students will gain hands-on experience while writing real world-based web applications from the ground up. Basic Structured Query Language (SQL) will be introduced. Simple databases will be created for use with web application back-ends. Students will learn to access and modify their databases by building front-ends using server side scripting and embedded SQL.
Prerequisite(s): CIS 210 SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Design PHP programs.
- Write PHP programs.
- Demonstrate basic PHP syntax, structure, and coding techniques.
- Implement a MySQL database.
- Develop code for SQL statements to access and update a MySQL database.
