This course provides students with a deep understanding of the principles of warehouse management and how to improve efficiencies. Students will learn how goods are received, how orders are processed, how goods are replenished, how value-added services may be provided, and how goods are dispatched. Students will learn the role of the warehouse within the supply chain.

SLOs:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

Describe the role of the warehouse and warehouse manager in the overall supply chain.
Evaluate the various warehouse models and designs and how they can each fulfill and affect business and the supply chain as a whole.
Discern impact of increased customer demands and internal pressures to reduce costs while improving service level on warehouse and logistics managers.
Analyze the impact of e-commerce on the warehouse’s role in the supply chain.
Compare current and potential future advances in warehouse management.
Strategize where automation, robotics, and advanced software systems have a positive effect on logistics operations.
Integrate improved communication skills into workplace practice.
