NET 598 - Cloud Infrastructure and Administration Credit(s) 5.00 Lecture Hours: 4.00 Lab Hours: 2.00 This course will prepare students to pursue entry-level DevOps, support, and cloud operations roles and will teach students how to solve problems and troubleshoot various cloud-based infrastructures. Students will learn how to create automatable and repeatable deployments of networks and systems. Students will have the opportunity to build a variety of infrastructures via hands-on activities. It will also help prepare them to take the Amazon Web Services (AWS) SysOps Administrator-Associate certification exam. This course replaces NET 498.
Prerequisite(s): NET 198 SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Identify the global infrastructure components of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
- Describe the security and compliance measures of the AWS Cloud.
- Explain the architectural principles of the AWS cloud.
- Demonstrate when to use AWS database services.
- Describe AWS infrastructure as it relates to system operations.
- Manage databases on AWS.
- Secure databases on AWS.
- Scale databases on AWS.
- Build virtual private networks with Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC).
- Create automated and repeatable deployments.
- Configure automated and repeatable deployments.
