ASL 245 - American Sign Language III Credit(s) 4.00 Lecture Hours: 4.00 This course expands on basic language skills in American Sign Language (ASL). Students will begin to engage in group conversations, exchange information, and communicate with others in a culturally appropriate manner on a wide range of topics. Student planning to earn the Deaf Studies Certificate must also take the corresponding laboratory course, ASL 246 American Sign Language III Lab.
Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C in ASL 171 or ASL 181 . SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Demonstrate expressive and receptive ASL communication skills in larger groups and with a wider variety of topics.

Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Deaf Culture.

Employ ASL to connect to a wide range of topics.
