RAD 300 - Radiographic Exposure Credit(s) 4.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 Lab Hours: 2.00 This course explores the principles of equipment operation, phototimers, and manual techniques. The factors affecting radiographic quality and the methods for maintaining good radiographic quality are investigated. Many learning experiences are provided in the energized laboratory.
Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C in RAD 322 . SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
-
Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of all aspects of digital radiography.
-
Demonstrate the correct usage of technique charts, automatic exposure control (AEC), and machine operation in digital radiography.
-
Formulate the correct factors to produce good quality radiographic images.
-
Solve technical problems involving grids, digital exposure, and distance.
- Integrate previously learned materials to assess and solve technical problems related to imaging and exposures.
-
Apply geometric factors affecting the radiographic image to obtain images with maximum quality.
