RAD 210 - Clinical Education I Credit(s) 4.00 Clinical Hours: 12.00 The radiography student will be assigned to the clinical affiliate. Students will be thoroughly oriented to the operation of the hospital and radiology department. Students will observe, assist with and gradually perform under direct supervision procedures learned in Radiographic Procedures I. They will learn routine procedures performed in the assigned clinical affiliate and apply procedures introduced in Imaging. Film critique will be integrated throughout the course. Students will meet requirements and competencies in the areas specified in the clinical procedure manual.
Prerequisite(s): A minimum grade of C in RAD 101 and RAD 120 SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Perform routine radiographic procedures learned in Radiographic Procedures I to 80% accuracy.

Apply knowledge gained during the previous semester effectively and safely, and complete weekly objectives as specified in the clinical manual.

Continue developing professional conduct and skills necessary to practice professionalism during all phases of the training.

Master the art of using good judgment while presenting a professional image.

Continue to learn the art of critiquing their films.

Abide by the professional dress code and clinical policies.

Practice professional ethics and conduct while applying technical skills.

Work toward the completion of the clinical competencies as required in the clinical manual.

Increase skills and build confidence while working under direct and indirect supervision.

Remain competent in all previously completed views/exams.

Begin to problem solve and critically think due to the variations in the patient’s condition, body size, mental state and equipment available.
