PSY 261 - Human Sexuality Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 3.00 This course is an introduction to the study of the dynamics of human sexuality. Emphasis is given to the physiological, psychological, and social aspects of sexuality. This course is cross listed as SOC 261.
SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Identify social science methods used in analyzing social phenomena in the diversity of human perspectives.

Create an operational definition of love and intimacy.

Integrate influences from the past to the present as well as the anticipated future.

Describe how to communicate effectively their beliefs and values about sexuality.

Examine human sexuality from a multicultural and diverse perspective.

Describe how certain sexual practices could affect health through the actuation and transmission of disease.

Demonstrate a functional understanding of sexual anatomy and physiology.

Describe the process of conception, birth, and abortion.

Use critical thinking in responding to current and future issues effecting human sexuality.
