MMS 111 - Video Production I Credit(s) 3.00 Lecture Hours: 2.00 Lab Hours: 2.00 This course introduces students to electronic remote video camera operation and editing. Special attention is given to shot selection framing composition, and lighting. Weekly projects are evaluated by students and instructor in group process.
SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:-
This course is the first step in television video production, showing students how to transform live action onto videotape to a practical usable form using photographic techniques and editing.

Students will know how to operate remote video cameras, recorders, light and sound equipment.

Students will be able to edit video projects using music or voice tracks.

Students will know how to correctly frame, compose and light subjects, and use special effects.

Students will get practical experience operating cameras and editing on a weekly basis.

Students will develop problem-solving skills in the field while learning.

As students embark on a project, they will learn the best way to overcome problems in order to complete the project.

When project is complete, the instructor and students will critique each student’s work and suggest methods to improve performance.
