MFG 505 - Lean Manufacturing Credit(s) 1.00 Lecture Hours: 0.50 Lab Hours: 1.00 This course covers the principles and techniques of lean manufacturing. Topics include lean principles, value stream mapping, total productive maintenance, manufacturing cells, office cells, setup reduction, pull systems and continuous improvement.
SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe integral lean thinking principles.
- Describe methods of implementing lean principles.
- Apply knowledge to a real world work environment.
- Integrate workplace skills to include critical thinking, integrative application, systems thinking, autonomy, responsibility, self-awareness, reflection, communication, involvement, teamwork, and leadership.
