MFG 190 - Metallurgy Credit(s) 2.00 Lecture Hours: 1.00 Lab Hours: 2.00 This course teaches students the basic theory of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. In addition, this course focuses on how metals differ in terms of hardness, brittleness, durability, resistance to corrosion, machinability, and weldability.
SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:-
Identify ferrous metals.

Identify non-ferrous metals.

Identify properties of metals.

Identify types of iron by their individual properties.

Identify types of steel by their individual properties.

Demonstrate an understanding of heat treating processes.

Identify various grades of copper, aluminum, magnesium, and titanium by their various properties.

Identify various grades of lead, nickel, tin, and zinc by their individual properties.
