MAP 512 - Medical Assisting Pharmacology Credit(s) 2.00 Lecture Hours: 2.00 This course provides a basic background in the classification and understanding of drugs and their sources, uses and legal implications. This course will also provide discussion on the characteristics of typical drugs, side effects, precautions, interactions, and patient education of each category.
SLOs: Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:-
Discuss the key terms used to describe the clinical use of drugs.

Describe the difference between over the counter drugs (OTC) and prescription drugs.
