This course is designed to provide the student with additional readings in literature, allowing that student to obtain a greater understanding of the literature discipline through combining texts with other educational opportunities.

SLOs:
Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

  • To give the student a greater knowledge and appreciation of the achievements of writers whose literary accomplishments can be better understood in the context of the combination of primary source readings supplemented with critical studies and opportunities for personal on-location observations. This course will add to the overall knowledge of the subject matter involved. It will give the opportunity to study a single author or work in isolation coupled with secondary readings and first-hand observations will develop in the student. Also, the student will have a much greater appreciation of a work and the times and places in which it is set.
