JOU 932 - Journalism Internship

On-site experience in a community news organization is provided and is supervised by a professional journalist. Practical experience will be provided in all aspects of working at a daily news organization and includes gathering, processing and editing of the news. The student will learn to maintain a daily beat, write news articles, and observe operations of the news organization.

This course will utilize skills learned in newswriting and news processing. It will challenge the student to function in a work-like environment with adequate supervision by an editor. It will give the student an appreciation of the community news organization as a potential place of employment.
